Umwelt : Based on my encounters with with place and critters in Australia and Aotearoa, challenging my own colonialised anthropocentrism, I investigate posthumanism, decolonialism, ecofeminism and an ethos of care to explore my relationship with the more than human world. The artmaking process uses discarded industrial waste in combination with living matter, myecelium and kombucha leather, to construct interrelated, symbiotic environments. By making, unmaking and remaking materials, I create large and medium abstract speculative creature forms, as I imagine posthuman futures.
